Benji is looking for an experienced home which can work with him to overcome his fears. He is nervous of new surroundings and needs an understanding owner who will give him the time to settle. Benji is house trained and gets on well with his large female kennel mate . He has bonded with his foster mum and is showing his fun side by enjoying playing fetch and giving lots of kisses.
Benji is a quiet soul whose life has fallen apart and he really would love to be in a loving home once again.
Update: From foster mum
* I really feel for Benji, he is totally lost now his life has fallen apart . He doesn’t mind the company of his large female kennel mate ( Lana ) but he is equally content on his own. He prefers the ladies so a home with female or no dogs would be best and no young children as he has never lived with kiddies before.
He is now my best friend and my constant shadow if I am about the kennels, his loyalty Is unwavering and I truly think he would walk over hot coals to be near me . He is very unsure of strangers particularly men but we are working on this . He needs a breed experienced home to help him build a happier future.
Update: From our volunteer dog walkers
* Benji popped along to agility today with his girlfriend Lana and to be honest for a lad who is feeling a little bit lost at the moment ,I thought he did very well at managing being in the company of lots of people and other dogs.
He felt safe because he had Lana & foster mummy ( Bex) to look after him. It was funny to watch how Lana kept nudging him & jumping on him as if to say ‘ ‘Come on Benji don’t worry this is our day out – Its about having fun oh!! and you get lots of treats’………Benji settled quite well for his first day out although he was a lot happier when he had Lana by his side.
Benji is a lad who would really benefit from an owner who can give him the time & understanding to help him realise that doggy life can be fun.
* Benji has been coming along very well over recent weeks. I took his new kennel mate, Rottie girl Rhythm out for an Agility session and it was lovely to see Benji having such fun with another volunteer in the play area with a ball, I am sure he was squealing with delight. He had just had his coat brushed too, which I am told he really enjoyed. When I brought Rhythm back he was really pleased to see her
* Walked this handsome boy yesterday, very calm coming out of the kennels with all the doggies barking, he was lovely with his kennel mate, gentle taking their treats no jealousy, it was a pleasure walking him in a wood full of bluebells yesterday. We thought he had a bit of Airedale in him with that lovely whiskery face very endearing, a lovely dog for someone …
