Dog for Adoption

Baxter is a 10 yr old Bichon Frise, good with dogs, cats, rabbits and children who is looking for a home due to a change in family circumstances.

He is such a easy, happy little soul and a pleasure to look after. He is very friendly and really enjoying the company of his new doggy friends. He seems to be very confident with all dogs; big and small but prefers to play with little dogs of a similar size. He doesn’t tend to play running / chasing games but really likes rolling and romping around with his little friends and enjoys exploring the outside environment.

He walks nicely on a lead and harness and appears to know basic commands but may need to brush up a little on his recall – although he loves his treats so this shouldn’t take long at all.

Baxter loves people and is very keen to have cuddles on a lap or snuggle up next to you on the sofa but also appears quite content to be left on his own for short periods. He is generally a quite dog but will bark if someone knocks at the door or if he hears a strange sound or if the local wildlife are cheeky enough to visit the garden, but he soon quietens down so this isn’t a problem.

Since he arrived in foster care with us he has had a regular supply of playmates,  which is probably why he is so happy to grab a snooze when he can.

Baxter also has slept very well at night with no fussing and chooses to go in a crate (with the door left open) or if he is hot will stretch out on the floor. He is very clean inside our house and non destructive of shoes, beds, etc. He will, of course need regular grooming sessions to keep his coat in good condition.

Baxter is a really sweet boy and I’m sure he will enrich the lives of whoever adopts him and although he was the only dog in his previous family I’m sure that he would make a great companion for another friendly little dog.
