Dog for Adoption

Gertie is a sweet girl and a firm favourite with our walkers, but she can take a little while to trust new people, more so men, than women.  She adores the staff and has formed lovely bonds with the carers.

Gertie is muzzled when she is out in public as she has a very strong chase drive – the muzzle doesn’t worry her and she is comfortable wearing one, so do not let that put you off such a wonderful girl.

Gertie has lived with another dog previously and could live with another dog pending some successful dog mixes.  The other dog would need to be playful but also give Gertie space when she wants it.

Gertie will need to have her home alone time built up gradually as she may suffer from some separation anxiety, but hopefully once she has settled in her new home this will improve.  We have provided Gertie with a crate in her kennel as she likes to ‘hide’ away at times and this is something that can be transferred into her new home.

Gertie would benefit from further training, this will not only strengthen the bond with her new owners, but it will help with her confidence and provide mental stimulation too.

In an understanding and calm home, Gertie will make a wonderful companion as she is a fun, loving and active girl.

Can you offer this lovely girl a loving and permanent new home?
