|Patterdale Terrier Type||Small||Female||7 Years|
- Good with Older Children
Patty is a lovely girl who came to us after having had an argument with the other dog in her previous home. She dislikes cats and likes chasing small furries and so therefore would like a home where she can be the only dog or ideally the only pet so that she can receive all of the attention and not have any temptations to chase!
Patty would be happy to live with children, ideally aged 9+, who have been around dogs previously and understand that Patty may wish to have ‘alone time’. Although she loves a fuss, we would recommend that she gets fuss on her own terms and this isn’t forced upon her. She tolerates being picked up but would not like to be picked up or carried on a regular basis- she may be small but she still wants to be a dog!
Patty is a very intelligent girl who will need calming enrichment, mental stimulation and controlled exercise as well as a well enclosed garden that she can potter about in as she will need to stay on lead during walks due to her chase instinct. She is muzzled while out walking so she cannot attempt to catch any wildlife rather than a dislike of people! She loves the company of people, even if she isn’t interacting with them.
It’s important that any potential new owners have owned dogs previously and have had experience with terriers as she does display lots of typical terrier traits and would like a home where she can be understood.
