|German Shepherd Cross||Large||Female||18 months|
This young lady is Cara. We believe she is about 18 months old. Unknown if spayed but vaccinations have been started and she is now microchipped.
Cara came into us from the pound having been picked up as a stray so we have no history on her. We would not rehome with young children therefore but she does like people! Cara has been fine with other dogs but unknown with cats.
She had a short foster break for further assessment and this is what foster dad had to say:
“Cara is going to be a really great dog for any family. Despite being very young is very calm and desperate to please and will respond to training very well. She is house-trained and comes immediately when called and she will sit at the kerb. Brilliant with our dog, very gentle in play with no mouthing at all. A bit wary of us at first but, in no time very affectionate. She loves to sleep on our feet and follows us both wherever we go. If one of us leaves the room she welcomes us back as though we had been gone for a week.. Took her a bit longer to get comfortable with our teenage grandson which is unusual, he loves dogs and they normally go straight to him, but now they are great friends.
She pulls a little on the lead but is manageable. Doesn’t worry about traffic or people. She spotted a cat on the other side of the road and was very interested but didn’t bark. Very inquisitive. Not seen her with any children but, with proper supervision I think she could be a child’s best friend. I don’t think she has finished growing yet but I don’t think she will be big by shep, standards, however her feet are huge and her tail can be a weapon of mass destruction. If circumstances allowed we would not want to give her back.”
A lovely young lady that just needs a home to call her own please.
