Lula was retired from racing in 2015 and is now looking for her forever home. She is a beautiful Trailhound with lots of love to give, but she can be a little nervous in new situations and meeting new people. Once she settled she shows just how loving she is. She gets on well with other dogs and enjoys nice gentle walks around the site and off site also, she then like a nice quiet doze in the chill out room. How could anyone resist those sad eyes and not want to give her a cuddle?
Lula will need a quiet home where her family are around for a good part of the day. Due to her being nervous at times she will need a patient family who will take things slow with her, giving her time to settle and get used to her new home. She will reward you with lots of affection and tail wags once she settles. She could live with another suitable dog or a cat, however we feel she would be suited to a home with older, calmer children only.
Trailhounds are very adaptable dogs who make very good family pets. They have fantastic temperaments and tend to be great around children, other dogs and other animals. They need plenty of exercise but in once in the home love nothing more than curling up in front of the fire. They do however, love a smell.. so their noses are likely to be found centimetres off the ground, so recall often needs some work. They are relatively quick learners who are highly motivated by food.
