Roxy is a lovely, medium sized, Hound X Collie. She was surrendered to the Sanctuary with her friend, Buster, the Staffie X, due to a relationship breakdown. Roxy was originally rescued by her previous owner as a puppy from a drug dealer who was going to drown her! We would like Roxy and Buster re-homed together as they are bonded and great friends. Roxy is a gorgeous girl who can be a little timid and nervous at times but is very friendly once she knows you! She is obsessed with tennis balls and absolutely loves it when you throw a ball so she can chase it and bring it back to you! Roxy is a very lively and energetic lady due to her combined breeds who would benefit from an active home with daily walks and exercise. She has a good grasp of her basic commands and knows sit and stay and drops her ball when asked; she attended training classes as a puppy but we do recommend that she continues with her training classes as this will provide her with stimulation and improve her obedience. She can be very strong on the lead so further training would improve this. Roxy is good with other dogs, as is Buster, and she is friendly and tends to ignore them when off lead as she is focusing on her ball; when on lead she can be a little vocal but is happy to meet other dogs. Both Buster and Roxy would be able to live with another dog in their new home following a successful meet at the Sanctuary.
Unfortunately, Roxy wouldn’t be able to live with cats and small animals as she is overly interested in them and would probably chase them! Roxy has lived with children in her previous home and was very good with them; she would be able to live with children who are used to dogs. Roxy is reliant on Buster and looks to him for confidence and reassurance. If she is not with Buster she is constantly looking for him and misses him very much. Therefore we are going to try to re-home Roxy and Buster together as we are relunctant to separate them as they clearly love each other! They are very different in breed and personality but compliment each other. Roxy is a beautiful girl who is a bundle of energy and will make a fantastic companion with Buster. Roxy is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, deflead and wormed. If you feel you can offer Roxy and Buster a loving, forever home together, please come to the Sanctuary and meet her and Buster.
Buster is a very handsome, large sized, Stafordshire Bull Terrier X. He was surrendered to the Sanctuary with his friend, Roxy, the Hound X Collie, due to a relationship breakdown. Buster was originally rescued by his previous owner from another rescue centre. We would like Buster and Roxy re-homed together as they are bonded and great friends. Buster is a sweet boy, who is very quiet, calm and reserved. Buster enjoys having a good sniff in our field whilst Roxy is playing with her ball! He has a good grasp of his basic commands and knows sit, stay and lie down; he attended training classes previously but we do recommend that he continues with his training classes as this will provide him with stimulation and improve his obedience. He walks very nicely on the lead and rarely pulls. Buster is good with other dogs, as is Roxy, and he is friendly and particularly likes the ladies! Both Roxy and Buster would be able to live with another dog in their new home following a successful meet at the Sanctuary.
