This absolute stunner came into us as a stray so unfortunately we have no history on her. We have spent the last week getting to know this gentle young lady and now feel that she is ready to begin her life in her forever home. Although on the pictures Ruby looks a lot like a Labrador, she is much smaller.
Ruby has proved to be an absolute angel to spend time with. Since she has been with us, her lead work has come on so well, the staff have been amazed! She is happy to potter along next to you, only needing the occasional correction.
Ruby is quite shy of people and things that she is unfamiliar with. She will need time and patience to bring her out of her shell and give her the confidence that she so desperately needs. We feel for that reason, that Ruby would benefit from there possibly being another dog in the home. For those interested in adopting her who do not have another dog, we would ask that Ruby have dog training/socialisation classes to ensure that she becomes a confident, well rounded, well behaved adult dog.
We have been able to play with Ruby off the lead in the playpen where she loves to charge around with her best friend Ellie. She also loves to chase the staff enjoying the cuddles she gets when she catches one! She unfortunately does not know how to play with toys as such, although she did manage to unwrap her christmas present and enjoyed the treats inside.
Ruby loves a fuss and a cuddle, in fact the more cuddles on offer the happier she is. She will happily sit on our laps for a cuddle and has spent time in the office watching us work.
If you feel that Ruby is the dog missing from your life, please give us a call at the kennels.
