Xena is looking for a new home as her owner sadly died and the lady that took her on couldn’t keep her.  She was very unsettled when she arrived at the rescue, her whole world had turned upside down and she was upset and confused.  She is now coming on in leaps and bounds and is proving to be a very loving, affectionate character.  Xena can still be nervous when meeting new people but soon accepts and makes friends.  When Xena arrived she seemed a little unwell, following blood tests our vet believes she may have had pancreatitis.  She has had a course of antibiotics and is on a strict low fat diet (Royal Canin, low fat tins) which is easier for the pancreas to digest.  Xena is doing well and seems back to her normal self!  We will be closely monitoring her and repeating her blood test in February to check all is still ok.  Xena would suit a quiet home.  She has never been around children so needs an adult only home.  Perhaps someone retired.  She would benefit with someone used to rescue dogs as she is a little timid to begin with.  Xena is adorable and we would to see her find a loving home during her twilight years.  We sincerely hope her recent bought of pancreatitis doesn’t put people off her as she is so deserving of a good home!
